To mark the European Heritage Days, the Archives du Calvados will be opening their doors to the public on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

In addition to behind-the-scenes tours of the Archives, genealogy workshops and a visit to the reading room, the European Heritage Days will feature a special program to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Normandy and the Liberation. Two conferences on the theme of the Resistance (Saturday, 4pm) and the press from the Occupation to the Liberation (Sunday, 4pm) will be offered. (A selection of previously unpublished documents on the Liberation press and the return to the Republic will be on display in the exhibition room (free admission).
