Free tours and events from 11am to 6pm await you on the weekend of Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024.
Saturday and Sunday :11:30 am: Guided tour of the museum's storerooms
In addition to the objects on display in the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, thousands more are kept in the museum's reserves. On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the museum is exceptionally opening the doors of one of them. Welcome behind the scenes!
> Visits for adults; duration: 45 minutes. Free, registration on site on the day, subject to availability (limited capacity).3pm: Guided tour of the exhibition De la place Royale à la place de la République. Four centuries in the history of the city of Caen (1575-1975)
> Salles du Rempart. Duration: 1 hour. All day: Treasure hunt "In search of the magic object" (ages 6 and up)
It's said that there's a magic object in the museum... Try to find it by following the clues scattered around the rooms.
> Logis des Gouverneurs. All day: Booklet - game "Discovering the Musée de Normandie" (for 5 - 13 year-olds)
With Léontine and Hugo, discover objects relating to the life of the Normans, from prehistory to the 19th century, for a first look at the museum's permanent collections.
