Painting, drawing, photography, installation, writing: Samuel di Gianni does not establish a hierarchy between the different techniques he uses, but rather intends to play on their interconnection. His works are the result of articulations between his own writings, readings and photographs. The result is images, scenes and atmospheres inspired by everyday life, where personal superstitions, fantasies, childhood reveries and metaphysical reflections intersect.
Her practice is nourished by material drawn from intimate and family memories, which the artist freely reinterprets by confronting them with various contemporary mythologies. Sometimes dark and enigmatic, imbued with notions of absence and apparition, Samuel di Gianni?s works are inspired by the theory of the "valley of the uncanny", where the real, the imaginary and the artificial rub shoulders.
