An eminently picturesque city, Caen has always attracted artists
This movement became more pronounced during the 19th century, driven by English painters and engravers. The many local scholars and antique dealers also played an important role in the recognition of Caen's heritage, while the first photographers made the city a field for experimentation. The gaze of these French and foreign artists focused on a few emblematic places and monuments of the old Caen while testifying to the modernization of the city center.
The visit is an opportunity to see some of the works in situ.
A visit proposed by Florent Dufour. Limited number of places, reservation required.
