Concert “Vienne”

Since the 2021-22 season, the Conservatoire & Orchestre de Caen has been presenting a masterly corpus: the complete Piano Concertos by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This wonderful adventure began with his early works, performed by the school?s students. Here, the majestic and luminous Concerto No. 21 takes us to the pinnacle of the classical repertoire. A masterpiece of Mozart?s genius, the score reveals itself to be a joyous conversation, imbued with poetry and grace.
Vienna is home to another genius: Ludwig van Beethoven. Of his five Piano Concertos, the Fourth stands out for its extreme originality. With its great freedom of form and highly personal writing style, it can seem like a vast improvisation. Its premiere in 1808 was Beethoven?s last appearance as a soloist, as he had become deaf.
