Découvrez les “Sentinelles de la Mer Normandie”

As part of the Fête de la Science 2024 (this year's theme is 'An ocean of knowledge'), discover the "Sentinelles de la mer Normandie" network, which encourages citizens to take part in monitoring and protecting the coastline through some thirty participative science programs.

The aim of the network is to give citizens a better understanding of the participatory science programs they can take part in to help preserve the environment. The network will also give greater visibility to regional data collection initiatives and their supporting structures.

Following a presentation of the network, 2 marine mammal data collection projects will be highlighted: the GMN (Groupe Mammalogique Normand) Seal Brigade for the monitoring and protection of seals in the Orne estuary, and the GECC (Groupe d?Etude des Cétacés du Cotentin et des mammifères marins de la mer de la Manche) OBSenMER collaborative platform, which facilitates the recording and analysis of observations at sea.

Interviews with 3 participants:

- MARIE FRANCOU
Head of the Littoral project at URCPIE Normandie, coordinator of the "Sentinelles de la Mer
de la Mer Normandie" network and the "Alien Mer Normandie" program, and coordinator of the
