History Days: a journey through time
From March 21 to 28, 2025, following on from the inauguration of Caen?s Millennium, the History Days will offer a fascinating plunge into the great moments in the past of the city and its region, from the Middle Ages to the present day.
A week of historical events
Throughout the event, the public can discover Caen through the ages, thanks to a rich and varied program:
Historical re-enactments,
Guided and dramatized tours,
Shows and immersive animations,
Readings, film screenings and exhibitions,
Conferences and round tables led by experts.
Whether you're a curious youngster or a history buff, there's something for all ages and tastes!
Iconic locations as backdrop
The festivities will take place in the heart of three of Caen?s major historic sites:
The Château de Caen,
The Abbaye aux Dames,
The University,
These sites will host a program combining scientific rigor with a playful approach, including workshops, immersive 3D tours, symposia and guided walks.
A free event open to all
This week-long event dedicated to history will be entirely free of charge, allowing everyone to discover or rediscover Caen?s heritage in a friendly and captivating atmosphere. A not-to-be-missed event for history buffs and the curious from all walks of life!
