Tribute to the Nobel Peace Prize winners - 11 km
Walk proposed by the association Les Chemins du Vent
To mark the 80th anniversary of the armistice that restored peace to Europe, Les Randonnées pour la Paix pays tribute not only to those who fought for our freedom, but also to all those who, in 2025, are still suffering from conflicts around the world.
As part of Normandy Battlefields for Peace, we are organizing hikes with all proceeds going to Handicap International. By taking part, you contribute directly to the financing of essential actions: mine clearance, disarmament and support for conflict victims.
The walk will start at 1pm from the British cemetery in Cambes-en-Plaine, a place of remembrance dedicated to the soldiers who fell in the Second World War. Participants will continue on to Abbaye d'Ardenne, where the small Canadian cemetery is located, commemorating the 12 soldiers executed here in early June 1944. Hikers will then make their way to the valley of the Caen Memorial, where the finish line is scheduled for between 4.30 and 5 pm.
Moderate pace hikes: N°1 (3.5 km) and N°2 (11 km) recommended, especially if you are taking part with children.
We look forward to seeing you there to share this moment of remembrance and solidarity!
