More than two hundred years ago, on May 25, 1811, Napoleon was in Caen.
Like Louis XVI in 1786, he came to inspect the work on the port of Cherbourg. However, he did not neglect the Port of Caen, far from it: he ordered new studies for a canal parallel to the Orne with locks at Ouistreham, which he visited; he allocated 700,000 francs for this work by decree in 1813. In addition, he allocated 150,000 francs for the construction of the Prefecture building. Napoleon reviews the city and the castle.
We will in turn visit the different places he visited.
A conference visit proposed by Pierre Bonard.
