Ouverture exceptionnelle de l’exposition Calvados, 6 juin 1944

The Calvados Archives are celebrating the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy with an exceptional program. A special exhibition is scheduled from Monday April 15 to Friday August 23, 2024.
The Calvados, June 6, 1944 exhibition invites you to (re)discover D-Day through the eyes of civilians, through original documents dated June 6, 1944, or relating to this singular day in the history of our département.
From the landings on the coast to the massacre at Caen prison, and the daily lives of Calvados residents outside the fighting, the archives offer a glimpse into the daily lives of all those who witnessed and played a part in this event.
Exceptional openings are scheduled throughout the duration of this temporary exhibition: Monday June 3 from 5pm to 8pm for International Archives Week
Every hour (5pm, 6pm and 7pm), a fifteen-minute presentation of the exhibition will be given by the Archives du Calvados team, who will then be available to answer questions during your visit.Sunday June 9 from 2pm to 6pm for International Archives DayFriday July 19 from 5pm to 8pm for the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Caen
