Résidence “À l’Horizon” avec Justine Eliès et Arthur Heilporn

After several years of mutual support at esam Caen/Cherbourg, tandem manufacturing became an obvious choice for Justine Eliès and Arthur Heilporn. Between domestic and scientific landscapes, precise and spontaneous gestures, Arthur and Justine develop a four-handed work, nourished by a certain affection for artisanal gestures and know-how.


Arthur explores a variety of themes, from a rational approach such as geology or science to a more sensitive approach focused on the techniques employed. For her part, Justine places technique at the heart of her work. The scenography and installation process bring her pieces to life through factual connections, color interactions, pauses and resonances in space.


Both employ a process of gleaning: images, books, texts, photographs, drawings, archival documents, personal or otherwise. A collection that begins a process of fabrication, of motifs, shapes, colors, gestures and objects. Arthur and Justine create an imaginary yet familiar landscape, where manual and digital production intermingle.
