A collection of Persian poems from the 13th century, this humanist fable by the poet Farîd al-Dîn Attâr is one of the great founding texts. This initiatory tale follows the journey of a community of birds in search of the mythical Simorgh, a bird who could be their king and restore peace to the world. At the end of their journey, they discover that the object of their quest was none other than themselves.
Ages 8 and up
