Spectacle : Marcelo Evelin

For his new piece, scheduled for 2026, Brazilian choreographer Marcelo Evelin is working on an object halfway between performance and installation, in which the audience will have its place.

OPERANTÍPODA (part I) is a physical and sonic choreographic object created for and with eight artist-collaborators from the Demolition Incorporada platform. It revolves around the idea of a vibrating body, invoking and mediating living forces to manifest as a collective rite and a shared experience of materiality and resonance.

It is an operatic form unearthed from the primordial tropics? resurrected from a distant time? fragmented, cacophonous, stammering, stammering, sung in dissonant voices, like the antithesis and explosion of extreme emotions in precarious forms of life.

OPERANTÍPODA is the first part of BANANADA, a performance for 24 performers, including artists and non-artists from the local community in each city where it is presented.

A work in three distinct parts, which will be reunited for presentation in 2026.

BANANADA?s main axis is the "excavation" of a series of practices used in previous creations on the Demolition Incorporada platform, a performative operation based on simple, direct exercises focused on how to be together.
